I just saw a helpful video by Sarah a RN about the benefits of compression socks. However, I’m not sure if I should purchase knee high or thigh high socks. I’m a teacher that gets cramps on my legs.
Lately a lot of cramps in my left hamstring since I started running. An ultrasound showed that I have slightly poor circulation. Please advise about the better compression socks for me – knee or thigh high. Thank you kindly!

Hi Mabel,
Thanks for your question! I am very glad you found the video I made helpful 🙂 I suggest that you go with thigh high compression stockings since your hamstrings are being affected. People who suffer from cramping in the lower calf (like I do) greatly benefit from knee high, but I think in your case thigh high is the best option.
I bet as a teacher you are on your feet a lot teaching students, so this is probably causing a problem too. I definitely suggest you wear them on the job, and when you get a chance to sit down, you may want to elevate your feet to help with circulation.
I hope that helped and thanks again for your question.

Thank you for your feedback, Sarah. I will definitely look into purchasing thigh high. 🙂

I would go with the thigh high but if you have short legs knee highs may be thigh high length on you. I would read the measurements and make sure you size it right.
If you are getting cramping in the upper part of the leg…I bet that is painful by the way….I would get something that definitely compresses all the way up to the top of the leg.
