Some students don’t mind creating care plans, while others hate them. But one thing is for sure: You’ll probably have to do plenty of care plans in nursing school. Nursing care plans are an important part of developing your skills and knowledge as a nurse, but some students express frustration over doing so many of them in nursing school.


Nursing School Classes

What kind of classes can you expect to face as a nursing student? You’ll take classes such as Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, and much more. Some of these classes will require a lot of study time, while others won’t be as difficult. You’ll also want to learn what kind of nursing school prerequisites may be required.

In addition, many nursing schools are now offering online classes, and some even have their entire nursing program online. You’ll also want to consider things such as the school’s NCLEX pass rate.


Clinical Nursing Skills

One of the things you’ll learn in nursing school is a variety of nursing clinical skills. These skills include things such as changing IVs, inserting Foley catheters, checking blood pressures, and much more. It’s important to master these skills in nursing school so that you’ll be ready to perform them in a real patient setting. Nursing Entrance Exams

Nursing exams can include any exam (nursing Entrance, Mid-Curricular, and Exit Exams) that you’ll have to take to test your competency in nursing school. Many nursing schools require students to take nursing proficiency exams prior to admission into the program. These exams can include the HESI exams or ATI nursing test. While these exams may sound intimidating, they usually aren’t that bad if you take the time to prepare.

The NCLEX exam is the test you’ll have to pass in order to become a licensed nurse in your state. The NCLEX exam tests a nurses competency level and ensures they know the fundamental mental skills necessary to perform as a nurse.
