So this will probably seem like a really dumb question and that I’m over thinking things. I am a second-year nursing student and recently was assigned to a 91 year-old patient in the hospital, and I was helping her in the washroom.
I know that we are taught to wipe from front to back to avoid infection, but I think I forgot and accidentally wiped her the other way. I realized it after the patient had already gone back into bed. Is this a big deal, or am I just being too critical? Is there something I could have done after realizing it? It only happened once when I was with her.
