Hi,
I got my MSN degree in obstetrics and gynecology from India and came here to the USA (California) in 2013. I took the challenge NCLEX-RN and passed.
I’m working in California now since October 2013, but I wonder if I am eligible for the direct nurse practitioner exam, or do I need to complete some hours of more study (or any other option like certified nurse midwife).
Please suggest what I should do. I don’t know how I need to proceed to make my MSN valid.
Thanks

I would suggest that you contact the California Board of Nursing with your question. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Great question! As the person above pointed out it would be best for you to contact the BON in CA. They would be able to give you a more accurate response. If I were guessing you would probably have to take some proficiency courses to prepare you for NP boards and complete some clinical hours with a NP. But that is just a guess.
Here is the CA BON contact information:.
