Evolve HESI Study Guide Review for Nursing School | Registered Nurse RN

Hey Everyone,

It’s almost the weekend…woohoo! Isn’t there just something about after working all week by either going to school or to work that makes Fridays so awesome!!?? Although right now it really doesn’t matter to me because I am on break and it feels like everyday is the weekend……I do enjoy Fridays when school is in session. After class or clinicals on Fridays I usually try to catch up on lost sleep and try not to think about school. School really does consume your life when you are in college. You literally breathe, eat, and live school! Can I get an Amen from all you students out there?!

Evolve HESI Study Guide Review

Yesterday I got my Evolve HESI study guide book I bought off Amazon on Sunday. I got it pretty fast considering I got shipping for free and it’s the holidays. I think I scared the postman though lol! I knew the package was coming because Amazon gave me a tracking number and it’s status showed it was out for delivery. So I was waiting around all day for him to come and when he pulled up to the apartment I put my shoes on and opened the door and right when I opened the door he was fixing to knock on my door…which I guess he wasn’t expecting me to just abruptly open the door before he knocked. When I opened the door he jumped a mile high and looked at me like I was some weirdo eagerly waiting for her package lol….which in a way I was. He really didn’t say anything after he handed it to me…he sort of hurried up and left.

Of course I was excited to get my book. I love getting packages in the mail hehe 🙂 So I immediately opened it and started reading stuff. It is really an easy read and the HESI Hints in it are really good. It was a good refresher. After studying some chapters, I decided to practice some questions off the studyware CD that came with the book. By the way, the studyware CD looks exactly like the HESI test itself when you take it officially. I guess they make it like that so you will feel comfortable while taking the real thing. I decided to take the comprehensive exam on the CD just to see how I scored and what areas I needed to work on. Well if you look at my study log you will see what my score was….I was shocked because I felt pretty confident about my selected answers. I ended up making a 58%…yikes I know. So I guess I have a LOT of work to do.

I was a little down about it but after looking on the Internet and doing a google search with the key words “HESI CD score VS HESI exam” I started to feel better. I found one forum where people were chatting about the exit HESI and they said that on the practice CD they would get really low scores like 60-70% but ended up passing the HESI with 950-1100. So that made me feel a little better but still 58%…boy don’t I feel dumb. I don’t know if I have already told you all this but I have to make a score of an 850 on the exit HESI in order to graduate next semester….if you were wondering about the scores.

Well I am off to watch a movie we just received in our mail with Netflix. It’s that Bruce Willis movie Live Free or Die Hard…woohoo. Ben’s been wanting to see this movie…go figure lol! Boys and their action movies!

Until next time,

Sarah 🙂 future Nursing Gal.
