Nursing Foreign Country Diploma | Can I work in the USA?

I have generally practiced nurse diploma from different country. I had to study in college for 3 years to get it. Right now I am CNA in PA. But I want to become LPN or RN. Is my diploma any good in USA or is there any suggestion for me to work with my diploma? I don’t even know if I have any credits from my foreign college? Thanks so much for tips.

You might be able to work as a LPN in the US once you pass the NCLEX-PN exam. I think before you can take the NCLEX (since you are from another country) you will have to take and pass the TOEFL exam or CGFNA which are exams that tests your English. Then you will be able to sit for the NCLEX exam.

I highly, highly suggest you contact PA state board of nursing because they will be able to tell you exactly what you have to to. Here is their contact information:

    PO Box 2649
    Harrisburg, PA 17105-2649
    Phone: 717-783-7142
    Fax: 717-783-0822
