First Day of Orientation as a Nurse | Registered Nurse RN

Hey Everyone,

I hope every one’s week has started out with a bang. My week has started out with full force. I had orientation today which was from 8am-4pm. It was actually pretty good. It feels like all the information (policies..etc) is coming together because I have really just got the information in bits and pieces with my clinicals and now it feels like it is all coming together….woohoo.

I think I know every code out there….code blue, code pink. code 6, code toro. I have to say I am super excited about the health insurance benefits and the retirement plan. It will be SOOO nice to have health and dental insurance for both me and Ben. Right now I don’t have either because I can not afford it and I pray for the best. But soon I won’t have too.

First Day of Orientation, Nursing Sample Schedule

I have orientation again tomorrow 8am-430pm. Here is the outlook for the week: VERY BUSY….Wednesday 8am-400pm, Thurs. orienation 8am-4pm, Friday OFF, Saturday clinicals 7am-7pm, Sunday 7am-7pm, Monday 7am-7pm….I can’t believe I’m doing 3 twelves in a row.

So today it has been raining all day. It has actually been raining for like 7 days straight. It has been gloomy, cloudy, dark, and rainy. It is rather depressing. Anywho….today after orientation I needed to go and pick up my cap & gown because they were having this thing where you can pick it up. I didn’t want to do it at all because of the rain, trouble finding a parking space, and I was very tired from orientation but I went anyways because I wanted to get it over with and get it. So I went…huge mistake!! I found a parking space (luck was on my side), walked in the rain (pretty decent walk), and arrived at the place where I needed to pick it up. Well guess what??!! They didn’t have anymore cap gowns in my size….yeah! They only had 4’11-5ft & 5’10’ and up. I’m 5’5 so none of those worked. Now I have to wait until 2 weeks before graduation to get it. So needless to say I was a little wet, tired, and frustrated.

Oh well though I can wait until later on to get it. Well I’m off to finish watching House M.D. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Until next time,

Sarah 😉 future Registered Nurse RN
