How to Adjust YouTube Video Speed

If you’ve ever watched a video on YouTube and thought to yourself,”I wish I could speed this video up or slow it down,” then I have some good news. YouTube actually has a feature that allows you to adjust the playback speed of any YouTube video, so you can slow down or speed up videos as much as you want.

This feature can be especially helpful for international viewers, who sometimes struggle to understand our lectures in English. In fact, we sometimes receive comments or emails from international viewers who will say something like this:”I love your lectures, but English is not my native language. Can Nurse Sarah slow down a bit in her lectures?”

Adjusting video speed can also help nursing students who want to speed things up a bit and get the gist of a video without having to watch it at its normal speed.

How to Adjust Video Playback Speed on YouTube on Desktop

If you’re watching YouTube on a desktop computer, you can adjust the video playback speed using the method below.

Step 1: Click the small gear icon on the lower right corner of the YouTube player. You might want to pause the video first, but you usually don’t have to pause it to change the speed on a desktop.

Adjust YouTube Video Speed on Mobile Phones

If you are watching YouTube videos on mobile devices or tablets, the process is slightly different. You can adjust the playback video speed on mobile (and slow it down or speed it up) by following the steps below.

Step 1: Pause the video, and click the three dots at the upper right portion of the YouTube player.

In conclusion, this might seem like common sense, but many people never realize that you can actually adjust the speed of videos on YouTube. By using this simple trick, you can speed up our lectures or slow them down to suit your preferences or needs.

We hope that helps your studying sessions!
