How to Make Mashed Potatoes

This recipe is for making Homemade Mashed Potatoes. This recipe is very quick and easy to make.

Not only is it easy to make but it taste way better than mashed potatoes from a box. This recipe will make the people who eat them think that you slaved all day making them.

This recipe for Mashed Potatoes is a perfect side that can be served with your main meal. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to make this tasty side serving:

Ingredients to Make Mashed Potatoes:

  • 5 Medium Peeled Potatoes
  • 3 Tablespoons of Butter or Margarine
  • 1 1/2 cup of Milk (regular, 2%, or skim)
  • 1 cup of Sour Cream
  • 2 teaspoons of Salt & Pepper

Begin by heating water in a medium cooking pan to a boil. Once at a boil place the 5 medium peeled potatoes into the water and boil for 30 minutes or until they are falling apart.

Once they are done boiling, drain and place back into pan. Then add butter, milk, sour cream, and salt & pepper to the potatoes.

Then use an electric mixer or a potato masher and mash them until they are smooth with no lumps. Now ENJOY!!!

Best served with- gravy, cheese, or extra sour cream. These are a favorite dish for supper, and especially popular at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other  holidays.
