How Hard is Nursing School Really?

I am going to be starting nursing school in the fall. I will be attending a 4 year bachelor’s degree program (BSN) in Michigan.

I had a friend who just completed the program and she was always so stressed out. She is a stressed person anyways so I don’t want to go by what she says.

My question is that is nursing school really that hard?

I need some positive responses but truthful because I am really freaking out. Any tips would be helpful too. Thanks
-Cassandra

It depends on your perspective of what is hard. Like for instances apparently your friend does not handle stress very well. Hope she does good as a nurse because it can be stressful. But nursing school isn’t as hard as everyone says it is. I am in it right now and I am passing. I am not making all A’s (but no one does). I wouldn’t fret about it because if it was that hard no one would pass and the world wouldn’t have any nurses.

I agree with Jodi it is all about perspective. I thought it was one of the hardest things I have even accomplished in my life but I am so glad I did. I have a great job and money. I am like your friend I don’t handle stress very well.

My tips for you is to study really hard and keep a planner on your phone. They have great apps for that. Also, make friends while in school because they can help you out. And don’t be afraid to ask questions and speak up.
