Do you ever find yourself asking questions such as: What is my purpose in life, what are my talents/skills, what am I meant to do for a living, etc. This article will give you some great tips on finding your special niche in life, and fulfilling your dreams & desires. There is no doubt about it: If you find your career passion or purpose in life, you will be a much happier person.
Finding Your Passion in Life
Before you will feel like you have found your purpose in life, you will first have to find what you are passionate about. Why is this so important? Because passion is the single most important element to any successful person.
For instance: Michael Jordan (the famous basketball player) once said that he thought the reason he was so successful in basketball was because “It was like play, not work.” In other words, he was so passionate about playing basketball, he was driven to constantly practice & improve his skills. He didn’t view it as work, he viewed it as fun! This extra work allowed him to succeed, which also improved his career/financial situation dramatically.
But how can you find what you are passionate about? Well first you have to take an honest evaluation of your life. Start with what you like (and don’t say “I don’t like anything”).
Everyone has an interest in something. Maybe you like to watch movies or television. Perhaps you love sports. What about video games? Are you interested in religion? Do you just enjoy making money?
Again, it is very important to find your interests, and a good place to start is by observing what you do every day. Even if you don’t see a way that you could translate your interests into a career, don’t get discouraged- just make simple note of the things you think about & do on a daily basis.
Turn Your Passion into Possibilities
After you take an honest evaluation of what you really enjoy doing with your life, and what you consider to be “fun,” your next mission is finding out how you can translate your interests/passion into a career. Again, if you pick something you really enjoy, then chances are you will not only be much happier with life, you will also make a lot more money!
But what if the things you constantly think about (or are interested in) don’t have an obvious way of making money for you? Should you give up? Absolutely NOT! Instead, you have to now begin your journey in life to find a way to share your interests & passion with the world. Now you must find a way to take what you love doing, and learn to charge money for it-in some way, shape, or form.
Let me give you an example: Maybe you like being a couch potato & watching television. That is your only interest & you really enjoy watching your favorite programs. Well how can you make money with that? Simple! You could start a simple website and you can write articles on your favorite shows. Then simply place an advertising program (such as Google Adsense) on your website. Then you can make money by talking about something you really enjoy.
Of course that is just one example and you may not necessarily start your own business or website once you discover what it is you are passionate about. But once you find what you enjoy doing, then you must find out where/how to charge money for it. Maybe you will realize that you could go somewhere and get a job, or maybe you will decide to start your own business. But either way after you find what you want to do, now you must focus on getting the skills you need to succeed with it.
Acquire the Necessary Skills and Knowledge
By this point you should have figured out your interests, and brainstormed on a way to turn that into a possible career.
Again, maybe you will decide to do something at a traditional job (such as nurse, accountant, etc.), or maybe you have thought of a brilliant business plan. Either way, you now have to make a battle plan to achieve your dreams and part of that plan includes learning new things & getting the skills you need to succeed. In other words, you have to learn the “rules of the game” and then you have to “beat the game.”
If you’re dream career requires a degree, then get on the fast track and get that degree! If you decide to start your own business then I say forget about school, and instead focus on learning everything you can about the field you are interested in.
You should be a sponge for knowledge. I would recommend going to the library & getting every book on the subject, do research online, consult any experts, buy any necessary e-Books, and get all the information you can as quickly as you can. Master any and all new skills you need to know as quickly as possible.
Insert Passion and Extract Profits
After you learn the skills you need to follow through with your career, then it is time to really juice up that passion of yours. Again, passion is the fuel that will drive you to the top of the world!
So once you get your plan in place, learn the skills you need, and get ready to make that money-now is when you turn that passionate flame into a roaring fire. If you put your heart, soul, passion, interests, creativity, persistence & hard work into something, then you will definitely reap the rewards. Remember, you reap what you sow. If you put everything into it, then life will give you everything back. If you put little into it, you will get little back. Your passion will become your purpose in life.
