I started my journey and so far, I am full of fear because of the prerequisites “chemistry” (don’t know what to expect) and I have to complete and get transcripts transfer over to the school I would like to attend. The program I am interested in is an accelerated program but I must first complete 7 out of 5 prerequisites which I have 3 or 4 so far and have a 3.0 gpa, I need some advice feel overwhelmed, but I am positive and happy about my future as a nurse. Im trying not to let the fear take over, not smart enough for nursing can I make…..
well that’s enough of that. thanks for hearing me out.

Hey Ange! I’m in my last semester of nursing school and remember having to take chemistry as a pre-requisite. I thought it wasn’t that hard. I was more worried about the math class I had to take because I stink at math. Chemistry in college as an undergraduate isn’t as hard as if you were taking it as a graduate. My advice to you is to research your professor and if you have the option of taking another chemistry professor make sure you get the easiest ones. A bad professor can make the difference trust me. Since I am fixing to graduate in May let me tell you all the hype about nursing school being so hard and difficult, it really pertains to the students who are not serious about it (and clearly you are very serious about it). I promise those are the ones who usually flunk out. They don’t take it seriously and are lazy. Good luck girl! You got this!

Chemistry as a pre-requiste is like high school chemistry. It is very basic. I really recommend you look into study guides to help you with the class if you start having trouble. You can get in them in your school bookstore or Amazon.com. Also, to help give you some more advice about the pre-requisites they are really basic classes and like Vickey said above RESEARCH your professors and ask other students about them. Here is a list of nursing classes you may have to take and tips on how to pass the classes: https://www.registerednursern.com/nurse/nursing-school-classes/
Hope this helps you and nursing school really isn’t that bad…if it was some people who I work with would have never made it through nursing school haha.
