Hey Jackia!
Yes, you must be CPR certified in order to work as a nurse. All hospitals, require everyone (even volunteers) to be CPR certified. Some nursing schools provide CPR training, some don’t. If you are needing CPR training it is really easy to obtain. I would look up in your area American Heart Training Centers that provide CPR training. It takes only one day and you can get certified. It is always a good thing to be CPR certified, you never know when you will have to use it.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Hi Jackie,
It is best to be CPR and ACTS certified, most hospitals want that and it will also put you ahead of other candidates that do not have it.

I totally agree with Terri! If you have both of those certifications you will definitely look more desirable. Plus ACLS prepares you for code blues which is something you will experience as a nurse and knowing how to deal with it makes it less stressful. Thanks Terri for your comment 🙂
