Hey Everyone,
I hope every one is doing fine and dandy this Friday! I received another “ask me a question”…..I’m so loving it 🙂 This question comes from Brenda and here is what she asked:
“Hi Sarah
Just happen to come across your blog and love it! I am preparing for HESI/Boards here in Michigan. You mentioned a book you ordered from amazon produced by HESI. What is the name of it? I think I may order it as well. I did my 150 questions today. We were told we should attempt 5000 questions prior to HESI. Hope to hear from you soon.
Brenda”
Best Study Guide for HESI & NCLEX
First of all, thank you Brenda for your question and this is a very important question EVERY nursing student who plans on taking the HESI & NCLEX-RN should know. There are hundreds if not thousands of NCLEX-RN study guides out there….some are good and others are a waste of money. The key is to get the ones that will help you pass your exams on the first try. When purchasing a study guide for these exams it is important to purchase ones that come with plenty of practice questions and study material that easily breaks down the content.
So with that all said here are two books I recommend studying for your HESI & NCLEX-RN. I personally have bought both of these books from Amazon.com and find them very useful and so do my friends from nursing school.
The first one is made by HESI and it is called HESI Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination.
The second book I recommend is called Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN® Examination.
*See disclosure at the end of the post.
This book is great because is have over 4,000 practice questions which is more than the HESI book and as you, Brenda, pointed out it is recommended you practice 5,000 questions prior to taking HESI. I think the book made by HESI has only 550 questions.
Brenda, thank you for your question and I hope this helped you out. If you have anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask 🙂 Also, be sure to check out my HESI & NCLEX-RN Study Log that I have made that keeps track of what I’m studying, how many questions I did, and what I scored. Then after I complete the exams I will announce is I passed or not…..I’m hoping that it will be the word passed. Also, good luck to you on your exams. I’ll be praying for both of us! Good luck on your journey to becoming a registered nurse.
Until next time,
Sarah 😉
