Enrolling in a nursing school program or college is an important part of becoming a licensed registered nurse. LPNs, RNs, Nurse Anesthetists, and Nurse Practitioners must complete an accredited nursing education program and other criteria as defined by each state’s Board of Nursing.
Nursing school is the first step on your journey, as you must get a thorough education and licensure. Once nursing school has been completed, you can then apply for and take your NCLEX test for licensure in your state. Once this has been completed, as well as any required hours in nursing (often completed during clinicals in your nursing program), then you can begin working as a licensed nurse.
