Hi my name is Jackia Branch, and I want to know the steps of becoming a cardiology nurse. Do you have to get a Master in this field, can you work in physical offices?
Thanks in advance!

Hey Jackia!
Welcome back to the forum 🙂 In order to be a cardiac nurse, you must first complete a nursing program. This takes about 2-4 years depending on if you want an associates or bachelors degree in nursing. There isn’t a special type of nursing school you go to to become a cardiac nurse. After that you will need to get a job working as a cardiac nurse. You will get on the job training. The best place to start working as a cardiac nurses (especially when you are fresh out of school) is in a hospital on a cardiac floor. Here you will encounter many types of patients with heart problems.
A cardiac nurse can work in a hospital as a floor nurse, in a cardiac cath lab, ICU, stress lab, doctor’s office etc. There is no need for a master’s degree unless you are wanting to teach or go into management. You don’t need a masters to work as a cardiac nurse.
I hope this helps 🙂
Sincerely,
Sarah
