I have been on the path to go to nursing school and obtain my RN, however, I have 2 small kids and I still have to work. I have finished all the required prereq’s to go for my Associates and my Bachelor’s degree.
I keep running into the problem of having to go to school Monday-Friday and would have to not work in order to finish this. Is there any nursing schools in the South Florida (FL) area that offer night and/or weekend programs just so I can still work and spend time with my kids?

Hey Kristina,
Nights and weekends nursing programs are great for people like you who have kids and a job. I was wondering how south are you in Florida?
I think that Palm Beach State in Lake Worth has a program. Here is a link to it: http://www.palmbeachstate.edu/programs/nursing/
I also think Keiser University in Ft. Lauderdale has a nights program (I don’t think it is weekends) for nursing. I didn’t know how south you were and how far you were willing to drive. I hope these schools are close to you.

Hi Xena,
I am in the Port St Lucie/Stuart area but Ft. Lauderdale and Lake Worth are only about 1hr and a half south of me (depending on traffic). I am currently enrolled at Keiser University but in the Port St Lucie campus and they do not offer a night program. I do appreciate you getting back with me and I’ll check out Palm Beach State’s program.
Thank you!
