I was wondering if you know the difference between these two stethoscopes? I have heard a lot of good things about the Littman II, but I do not hear a lot about the MDF-MDI Stethoscope? Do you have any suggestions?
Thank You!!

P.S. Here is the stethoscope I’m talking about: MDF Stethoscope

Great question! Personally, I think they are both great stethoscopes. Littmann, like you I have heard super great things about them. I am a cardiac nurse and all the cardiologist I work with have a Littmann. The Littmann is lightweight, has the neat diaphragm for easy blood pressures, and the non-chill diaphragm which your patient will like. However, my only complaint with the Littmann was that I couldn’t hear very well when I tried my friends one day and I think it is the way my ear canals are formed. I seriously think that some stethoscopes are better for some people based on how their ears canals are formed.
I did like the MDF stethoscope and could hear better but it is a little bulky. It seems like you get a little more when you buy the MDF because you get free replacment parts for life, ID tag etc. If you know someone that has these stethoscopes at work or at clinicals I would try them out because what may be good for them may not be good for you (like my situation with the Littmann). By the way I went with a Prestige…very basic but it gets the job done for me. BUT if I went to buy another stethoscope I would go with MDF.
But really I don’t see a huge difference between…they are both great stethoscopes and quality made. Anyone else have any other comments?

Both great! It’s all about personal preference. Like Sarah said I would test them out before you buy one. You will be happy with either one.
