This month I am going to have to buy textbooks for nursing school. I can’t believe it is time to do this. I swear it just felt like I was celebrating the fourth of July the other day and BAM its fixing to be August. August is going to be a super busy month for me. I was telling my husband about everything I had to do and he was like “Yep babe that sounds like a lot of stuff!”.
Let’s see this is everything I must do. During sometime between August 1-3, I need to go school shopping and get some things because where I live we are getting a tax free holiday on everything that ranges from computers, clothes, and school supplies which is awesome because our sales tax is crazy.
After that like I said earlier I have to get a TB skin test which I can handle and renew my nursing insurance.
Tips on Buying Textbooks for Nursing School
Then during about the second week of August I need to go to the school bookstore and see what all books I need for my classes. I HATE buying my school textbooks because they are so outragerous in price. Get this, one year for one of my medical surgical books it was about $110.
However, I have noticed that the further I get along in my nursing program the cheaper the books get and the less I need of them which I would have thought the opposite. The best tip I can offer is to buy your textbooks online. I am going to search the internet for the best deals for my textbooks.
I mainly buy my nursing textbooks off Amazon.com !! I bet I save over $200 on my books since I buy them off the internet. If you want detailed tips on how to save money on your textbooks check out the article I wrote. I wrote it and it has good tips on where to get them.
*See disclosure at the end of this post.
Then sometime after that I need to renew my driver licenses since it is fixing to expire. A lovely $29.00 down the tube LOL. What stinks is that I can’t renew it online because I have to go to the DMV and show my marriage licenses so they will change my last name.
Then school will be starting back the 25th which will take up all my time for the next 9 months. It is like being pregnant lol so when I put it that way it isn’t as bad. Plus after that the 28th is my husband’s birthday. It is so hard buying for guys. I have no clue what to do for him.
