Hey Dawn,

THANK YOU so much for all your kind words :-) It truly makes me happy that I'm helping another fellow student nurse out there. Congrats on your decision to go back to school...that is so awesome and so is nursing. I bet you are nervous....but you can so do it. I think you will be very happy with your decision once it's over. If you ever have any questions about school or need to vent hit me up through the comments or "ask me a question" feature on the left hand corner. Thank you again for visiting me. I LOVE hearing from my readers...you all keep me going. I LOVE the remark about the index cards....lol!

Hi Sarah,

Wow, am I glad I stumbled upon your page today!! I am 37 years old and decided to go back to school to become an RN. It's been many years since I was in school, so; needless to say all this has been both exciting and nerve-wracking for me.

I decided to research online about tips regarding the HESI test; that is how I found your page.

Wanted to take a minute to thank you for taking the time to give so much advice/information as you have.

I've got index cards out, taking notes!
Thanks again,

Hey Fred,

Thank you very much for the comment! Oh yes dosage calculations are a doozy...you got to love them. I haven't started this semester back yet....that day comes next week. I am just glad it is my last semester. Wow, I know your busy doing the accelerated program (I couldn't imagine...I am almost dying doing the traditional). Yep, as a nursing student say goodbye to your social life! Good thing I have a blog to keep a somewhat social life lol. Good luck with everything! Glad to see some other RN nursing students out there!

Good Blog. Yeah dosage calculations are a doozy. Its great insight to see how other student s or experienced RN's address dosage calculations and their approach to the solutions. So much info on the net to filter through. There is site out there I recall that has a fast soultion to converting mass and volume by either divding by 1k or multiplying by 1k.

FYI.. studnet RN here at Kaplan College in San Diego-its an accelerated program but manageable, though at the cost of a social life and calling any coffee shop your second home. We, too, are back in the swing of things as the semester begins, and back to being the little monkey on the organ grinder.

Miss Jenny,
You are so welcome! I hope it does help you because it can get confusing sometimes. Answering your question actually helped me too! On January 15, which is when school starts back, I have a test over this stuff lol. Can you believe a test the first day back lol? I hope you are enjoying your break!

Thanks! And so quick...woot!! I remember teaching my boys about conversions...it is all coming back to me now...I think I was just convincing myself that I was completely lost! lol!! Your explanation has been great...Dimensional Analysis is a new method to me so those two "rules" were very helpful! Thanks for the chart, the practice problems and the link! Math scares me so you'll probably be hearing more from me! lol!!

Thanks again...YOU ROCK!!!
