Does everyone who takes the NCLEX have this feeling as if they’ve failed? I recently took it, but I’m worried that I might fail it. I’ve heard it is common for nursing graduates to feel as if they failed the NCLEX after they took it.
Thanks in advance…a worried nursing grad.

Yes, I felt the same way. My computer shut off at the minimum number of questions & I hit the computer saying, “no, please just one more question” I cried all the way home because I felt as though I had failed.

I felt like I failed, too! I personally think everyone feels this way, because there is so much pressure to pass, and that’s all you hear about in nursing school.
I was so happy when I found out I passed, though. It was as if a weight had been lifted from me!

Ugh, I hated the NCLEX. I stressed about it for months. And yes, like most nursing graduates, I felt like I bombed it immediately when it was over.
I was even looking up the next testing dates and preparing myself mentally for the next round of NCLEX tests. I even practiced some test questions in anticipation of having to re-take it.
To my delight, I passed the first time. I never want to do it again, so I’m going to do everything I can to keep my license active.

Mine shut off in the minimum number of questions and I knew I had passed. I guess it’s a confidence issue-I knew that I knew my stuff and was certain I passed (which I had).

I agree MH. I had 75 questions and felt pretty confident because I knew if it shut off at just 75 questions I must have either passed with flying colors or failed it miserably. And I didn’t feel like I failed it miserably. So, worried nursing grad, it is normal what you are feeling. Let us know if you pass or not! I hope you did.
