Looking to become an RN. The thing is I work 9 hours per day as a CNA now. So I’m looking for a school online. I know I have to do clinicals but I also know I can do my core classes online.
My question is I need to find a place where I will be able to do my clinicals. Do you have any suggestions?

Hey Shakira!!
I seen your question and wanted to put my 2 cents in. The nursing program you get accepted to will specify how many clinicals hours you will have to complete each semester and what specialty you will have to do each clinical in. Also, they may have affiliation with certain facilities in your area so you can complete your clinical hours.
As a nursing student, you will have to gain experience in many different specialties during your clinicals such as: ER, ICU, OB, Medical Surgical, Pediatric etc. To get the best answer to your question, if I were you, I would email the nursing program you plan on attending and ask them where you are allowed to do your clinicals and how many hours & what specialties you will have to complete each semester.
After you get an answer back (they may tell you that you have to find a preceptor yourself that meets their qualifications ex: is a registered nurse with a BSN or ADN degree and has been a nurse for a certain amount of time) and you usually can not complete clinicals hours on the unit your work.
To get clinicals set-up, I would contact the human resource department at local hospitals in your area and ask them how you can get set-up with a preceptor for your clinicals.
I hope I answered your question.
