My Registered Nursing RN Blog Has Moved to RegisteredNurseRN.com!

Hello Everyone =),

My blog has officially changed from Rnlife.com, to RegisteredNurseRN.com.

You can still access my site by typing in “registerednursern.com,” however, you may want to update any bookmarks or feeds you have to point to the new site.

I hope to make several changes to the site over the next month or two (with the help of my web guru husband). I will turn on the “Ask Me a Question” feature. I will also turn comments back on as soon as everything has been changed. I have turned them as I have been updating things, and I will turn them back on soon.

Work has been going great lately, and I am really enjoying my job as a Registered Nurse.  After nearly a year, I am finally settling in and I feel very comfortable with my job. There was definitely a learning curve, but I feel that I have a strong grasp of nursing and I really feel comfortable doing my job.

I will try to update a lot more soon, so stay tuned =). Till next time,

Sarah

Spring is Almost Here…Finally! Warm Weather is Around the Corner | Registered Nurse RN

I was so excited when we finally had a stretch of warm weather these past few days. This has been a particularly snowy, cold, and dreary winter for our area.  It is shocking how much the weather can impact your health. I have noticed that I have been a little more depressed feeling, since it is has been so cold and cloudy all winter.

My husband and I don’t turn our heat pump on at all–we use space heaters as needed to keep us warm. This, by the way, is a great way to reduce your electricity costs (in most cases). My most recent electricity bill was less than $75. Not bad! But then again, we can stand the cooler temperature in the house, and we have to bundle up a bit to keep warm.

Anyway, spring officially comes in just a couple of weeks, and I am so excited. I hope to plant my first vegetable garden, plant some flowers, and so much more. I will post some pictures once I get some plants growing. My mom bought me this neat little starter planter (like a mini plastic greenhouse), so I can start my flowers and veggies.

You can get the greenhouse things at walmart for $7, and I think it holds around 72 plants! Pretty neat. I have 2, and I will use 1 for my garden, and the others for my flowers. Buying the seeds and then growing them yourself is WAY CHEAPER than buying actual plants. I paid only a few dollars for seeds that will probably feed us all summer.

I can’t wait to do all of these things, and this stretch of warm weather has made me so excited.  =)
