Common Questions and Answers
I’m changing states, and I need to know if my nursing license can be used for the new state.
Answer: You may be able to use your current license if the state you are moving to (and from) is within the compact state agreement. You might want to read our article on nursing license when moving states for more information. Unfortunately, we cannot answer complex legal questions regarding what you may or may not do with a nursing license. Those questions are best reserved for the Board of Nursing in your state.
Can you solve a homework problem for me?
Answer: Unfortunately, we cannot assist students with homework. However, if you have a suggestion for a video topic, feel free to submit it! We’ll add it to our list of potential video ideas.
Can you collaborate with me or promote my book/product/channel/university?
Answer: While we’re very honored that anyone would like to collaborate with us or have us review their product, we simply cannot respond to every request we receive. We receive a high volume of solicitations daily via our website and YouTube channel. However, you can run an advertising campaign on our website or YouTube channel if you’d like to advertise your product, university, or service to our viewers.
I need to renew my nursing license. Can you please renew it for me?
Answer: In order to renew or apply for your nursing license, you must contact the Board of Nursing in your state. We have included a list of contact information for each state for your convenience. Please use that information to inquire about your license status or to renew your license. We do not deal with licensure renewals/applications on this website. We only provide Board of Nursing contact information.
I need to interview a nurse for a school project. Can I interview you?
Answer: Nurse Sarah has already responded to some interview questions on this website. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we can no longer answer additional interview questions.
I’m a professor or teacher. Can I show your YouTube videos to students during class?
Answer: Absolutely! Many teachers already do this. All that we ask is that you use our official YouTube video/channel. You can show the video on YouTube’s website, or you can embed the video into any webpage or forum on your university’s site. Please do not download footage from the video independently and reproduce it (ie, create a DVD or upload it to another video sharing service).
May I reuse an image, article, or video from your website? What are the copyright permissions?
Answer: All information on our site is copyright protected. You may not reuse or republish content without our permission. However, you do not need permission to link to an article on our website (please link to us!), to share an article or video using social media sharing tools, or to show our official YouTube videos to students or others.
Here’s a brief summary of permissions:
- Image permissions: The images on our website come from many different sources. Some images are our own unique creation, but some come from sources such as stock photo websites, public domain sources, or original copyright holders who have granted us permission (or licensed use) to reuse them. Because we do not own exclusive rights to many images, we are unable to offer permission to others. However, if your use falls within the “fair use” doctrine (such as showing an image to students in class for illustration purposes in a non-commercial way), that is fine. You may not republish our images online or use them for any commercial purpose.
- Video permissions: You may share our videos, so long as you do so through the official YouTube platform. Many teachers show our videos to students during class, and we’re happy for them to do so. We’ve received many comments and emails from students indicating that our videos are extremely helpful in helping them pass classes and even NCLEX. You may not download our videos for other uses without our permission (contact us for a quote), or obscure advertisements that may appear in videos. Please do not download and re-upload our videos to other video hosting websites, but you may use the official YouTube embed code or “share” feature to email, embed, view, or share our video with others. YouTube also has their own terms and conditions of use.
- Article permissions: You may not reproduce articles from our website or republish them online. You’re welcome to link to our articles or share them on social media (please do!). You may share a small quotation or excerpt from an article for illustration purposes, but please link to the original source on our website.
Can I buy an advertisement, text link, etc. for your site?
Answer: At this time we allow advertisements via Google Adsense/Adwords only. We do not engage in selling text links on this website. You may also target our YouTube channel. However, we may offer different advertising formats in the future, so stay tuned!
Can I write a guest post or article for your website?
Answer: We no longer accept guest posts that contain hyperlinks due to consistent spam and abuse that we’ve experienced. In addition, we no longer respond to inquiries about writing guest posts for the purposes of building links by search engine companies.
Can you give me a prescription or offer treatment/medical advice?
Answer: Our site is not intended to be used as medical advice, to treat or diagnose a disease, or provide medication advice. Doing so via the internet would be unethical and even potentially harmful (or fatal). Instead, these are general articles written about topics for educational or entertainment purposes. Also, while most articles are written by either nursing school students, licensed nurses, or professional writers, we cannot always guarantee the accuracy of the articles on our site. Healthcare procedures, laws, and rules are changing rapidly, and some of the information we provide may not be acceptable for all locations (or in the future). Plus, we’re human and are prone to making mistakes. For more information, see our legal disclaimer link at the bottom of this web page.
What is this website about?
Answer: This website is one of the fastest growing nursing and health websites online. It was created to promote nursing information and skills, and to provide a platform to help promote the nursing profession. We strive to offer the best resources for nursing students, graduates, current nurses, and more. Our goal is to be one of the top resources for all nurses, and to provide helpful information, statistics, job resources, and tips to those interested in the profession, as well as general articles on any area of life that we feel readers may find useful.
All of our new articles are written or edited by actual licensed nurses, professional researchers/writers, or nursing students.
Our number one mission is to create the best website for nurses and students…period! If you have suggestions for how we can make this site better, we’d love to hear your suggestions.
