I have been working as a RT for the past 7 years and have decided that I would like to pursue a career in nursing. I have done a little research and found that there is such a program, however I am having trouble locating an institution that provides this program. Any help you could give me in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Kim,
I have a few questions for you before I can answer your question. Do you already have a bachelor’s degree? Most accelerated programs require that you have a bachelor degree already in something else before you get into their program. Also, where do you live because that can help me recommend programs for you.

I currently only have an Associate’s degree but had excellent grades during that time. I live in Middle Tennessee, 50 miles South of Nashville. Thank you for your help.

Thanks Kim for getting back to me. I found that Belmont University and Marian University in Nashville both have accelerated BSN programs. However, both programs require that you have some type of bachelor’s degree already. The reason is because for the accelerated program you don’t have to complete pre-req courses (hence why it is accelerated and faster to complete). A person with a bachelor’s degree has already completed those pre-req courses. Here are Belmont and Marian requirements:

I don’t know if you are aware of this but there is an associates degree for becoming a registered nurse. It is an ADN program. Are you familiar with that?
Kim says
No, I’m not familiar with that.

You may want to look into an associates degree for nursing if you are wanting to save time. Also, since you already have an associates they may be able to count some of the classes you have already take.
